You wouldn't believe that we were in the same country today as we were yesterday, glorious sunshine for most of the day.
Fruits Of Love and Leading Lady have progressed to the school, both behaved well and will now spend 5 or 6 weeks in there before heading up the woodchip. Loxhill Lady was ridden around the lunge pen, horse and jockey stayed together! All the others had quiet canters or carried on in the school. No school for the children on Saturday so Sholto aged 7 was my assistant trainer. I often think he knows more about the horses than I do. He told one owner a couple of weeks ago that their horse didn't look like a racehorse! Thankfully, they saw the funny side and struggled to disagree with him.
I have tried to contact Sam as he was possibly having another operation on his foot yesterday. My efforts have proved unsuccessful, poor Sam has been stuck in hospital for what must be getting on for 3 weeks. I will report on his well-being as soon as I get hold of him.
Joe Roots has just scored his maiden test century aged 22, he certainly looks an amazing talent and naturally gifted. I am sure he will give English cricket fans some great days and will one day knock up a monumental score.
