31st January 2013

We schooled Billy Biscuit, Full Shift, Vazaro Delafayette and Knight Of Noir over regulation fences, the 4 of them cut the ground up and we drew stumps. It was a great lesson seeing how the 2 younger inexperienced horses struggled to jump out of it, Billy and Full Shift coped fine. All the others jumped numerous mini fences which are placed on much better higher ground. You may wonder why the others aren't there too, well they now are. The reason we have them on lower ground is that there is a hedge to put them up against which helps the babies no end. They are now island fences, all the horses have jumped plenty are will be fine from here on in.

When moving the fences my head came into contact with the post thumper, I know who has come off worse!

Alan and Trea Newell arrived with another horse to hopefully go point to pointing, a 5 year old named Hopstrings by Sulamani. I broke her in a while back, she then went into training only to have problems. We will see how we get on and hope to get a run into her at some point. They also have Dark Tartan here who may go for a run around at Whitwick Manor. She is backward and will benefit from a educational run.
