A easy day for those that galloped yesterday, the four of them seem to have come through it in good form and have eaten up all day. The other horses had canters on the woodchip, the 2 year olds went out and about for the first time today and behaved beautifully.
Billy Biscuit and Trouble Digger have had their entries sent for Larkhill, we now need to hope that they race. Mrs Poulter is coming to see her Nayef filly tomorrow and is coming from Winchester, she told me that they have had a lovely there today. A very different story here, the water was running fine first thing but by 11 a.m the freezing fog had put pay to it. As the morning went on it seemed to get colder, a local farmer tells me that we are in for blizzards on Friday, snow and winds up to 20mph - the joys! This afternoon I took a trip to Stow Ag a bought a blow torch to get at some of the pipes, it proved to be useless as I am not sure where the water is frozen .We normally manage to get it into the barn as it comes in underground, however not this year.
Glens Boy is now heading to Geoff Lane for a tie-back, I am waiting to get clarification of the date. He is a top of the ground horse so we may have some fun with him in the spring and summer months if the operation is successful. It is an operation form the heart not the head. Lady Bamford is very fond of him and she will do whatever she can to help him.
