All the horses cantered quietly and it was amazing how the gallop held up. Larkhill tomorrow is off as is Whitfield next Saturday. I have heard that the going stick at Whitfield goes in 1ft without being pushed, apparently it is bottomless and that is before the snow melts! Sholti will be delighted as we have tickets to go to Kingsholm to watch Gloucester play Bath. He understands that the horses have to come first but is all the same delighted.
Racing at Larkhill on the 9th February will be competitive and I can easily see a 12 race card. Billy Biscuit and Full Shift will be entered there, Trouble Digger will have to wait until the following weekend and go back to Chaddesley Corbett. We will have an entry in the 2.5 mile maiden at Barbury Castle on the same day, looking at the planner, Sam will be able to ride at both meetings. His father has apparently hidden all the crisps and chocolate bars in the house. He may have a chance of making the weight now.
