17th March 2012

Tiqris and Trouble Digger jumped 6 fences this morning, both did it well. All the other had routine canters. Once the riding out was finished I rushed off to Whitfield to walk the course. It is safe ground and as flat as a pancake. Chiquilline and Tiqris will run, I won't mind a bit of rain over night for Trouble Digger, it would help the other 2 also. The fences at Whitfield are as good if not better than some rules courses and if a horse can jump round there he can go anywhere afterwards, Cheltenham included.

Mags O'Toole was here this afternoon to see the sales horses and she was very complimentary about them, as I thought she particularly liked Avidiuss Cassius, Beckhani and Tiqris.

Wales won the grand slam and thankfully my Welsh mates have decided to go pointing in Wales this weekend. England hammered the Irish who simply could not compete up front.

On a sad note Silver Breese is out for the rest of the season and probably next as he has a leg injury. This is particularly sad for James as he won't get to ride him again this year. Hopefully Custers Last Stand will improve from his wind operation and can get him into the winners enclosure.
