6th October 2012

Glens Boy went quietly around the school and is a fine looking horse, his form isn't too bad either with an official rating of 119. All the horses had routine canters and Connaught Square did his last 3/4 bit of work before Towcester. The forecast is in our favour and little rain is forecast, he should get fast ground. We had just over 1 inch of rain in the last 48 hours. A few of The fields along the river are under water, it never surprises me how little rain it takes to cause floods around here. When it rains so hard as it has done of late the rain just runs off the high ground rather than being absorbed.

At 6.30 A.M an Intikhab colt arrived in the yard from Goffs yearling sales, he has been bought by Ralph Beckett and we will break him in. Trade at the yearling sales so far seems to be mind blowingly strong and value looks hard to find. The best of them is still to come and it must all kick off in Newmarket next week. How many yearlings, if any will hit the million?

Big days racing tomorrow with the highlight being The Arc.

Sophie and the kids have gone to watch Angelia Ballerina in Swindon tonight, I have no supper so am off to get an Indian take away. Tomorrow Sholto continues in his quest to be spotted by Stuart Lancaster and will be rugby training at Stow.
