A routine morning for most horses, Sergey rode Notnowcato, Dandy Man and the Kodiac colts in the lunge pen, all were well behaved.
I reserved the name Yousaybolt for my Milan gelding only for it to be thrown out after further checks. Apparently, Usain Bolt has already been reserved and the BHA think Yousaybolt is too similar. Very annoying for me as I thought it was a great name. I would question whether or not Usain Bolt ever is used, permission from the man himself will have to be granted. Maybe Clare Balding knows Usain Bolt and could contact him, for the man in the street it would not be an easy task.
It has been a day of little disappointments, The Revenue won't allow our partnership to enter into an EIS. We are scuppered by the racing aspect of our operation and were hoping to get some tax relief on our investment. They clearly know that most owners of racehorses lose money and it would open a whole new can of worms if they were seen to be giving tax relief on such investments. I think school fees and costs incurred by owning racehorses should get tax relief. After all, children are the future of this country.
These are all minor irritations, the horses are well and there is plenty to look forward to.
