31st October 2012

An easy day for all those that went to the grass yesterday, other had routine canters or were ridden around the school.

I was saddened to read about Fergie Sutherland's death, Sophie and I know his daughter Rosie very well, she is in fact godmother to Panda. He was a great horseman and I remember Imperial Calls Gold Cup as if it were yesterday, Conor O'Dwyer who rode him was a fantastic jockey and in my mind one of the best.

This afternoon was spent back in front of the computer, typical of the end of the month.

Tomorrow, Glens Boy will now lead Knockdhu schooling, Trouble Digger wasn't as bright as normal this morning and has a slightly raised temperature, he will be on the easy list until it returns to normal. He had his head firmly in the feed pot this evening so I don't think there is too much wrong with him. On the back of this we will be monitoring all the horses more closely than normal and anything that doesn't lick its feed bowl clean will have its temperature taken.
