James and I took the Winged Love gelding and the Robin des Champs into the lunge pen this morning and both horses behaved beautifully. Just goes to show what a little bit of time can do to boost a horses confindence and allow it to build up trust in both the rider and the man on the ground. I keep telling James he has the easy job as any idiot can fall off, the man on the ground is much more important! James does a great job riding the horses away as he is always chilled out with them. He has learnt in avery short space of time not to expect too much from them in the first instance. I told him that his mother and father used to hold his hands out in front of him for weeks teaching him to walk and not to expect the horses to trot round the school perfectly on day 1.
