7th December 2013

Illicit Illusion gets us underway with this years point-to-point season tomorrow at Barbury. After a great entry numerically I fear small fields with the fast ground.  He's fit, well and a light framed horse who won't mind the ground, Tom Weston rides.

Everything went on the woodchip this morning and a couple loose schooled.

A great day for Ben Case who scooped a 50K purse at Sandown with  Deep Trouble, he was here to brush up on his jumping and even if I say so myself he was fast and very efficient over his hurdles. Leighton Aspel had the gods looking down on him over the last hurdle, even so it was a remarkable horsemanship. He gave the horse a brilliant ride and I am delighted for Ben and his team, Ben is a big supporter of mine and nearly always has something here for one reason or another.

Baby Run, I suspect nearly had many reaching for the tissues, it was a great shame he ended up in the runners up spot but fought back to the line but sadly, didn't have enough left to get back past the winner. All in all a great days racing.
