The less said about Hopstrings race at Fontwell today the better. I do not to tie jockeys down to instructions as they have to ride what they see in front of them. I suggested to Connor that he did his best to make it a true run race. At no point did I suggest that he went flat to the boards from flag fall! Stood in the stands I questioned if he was riding a finish a circuit too early, I am not the only one who had that suspicion. Connor is a young jockey with impeccable manners and a bright future. We all mess things up and in racing we all have days to forget, this is one of them for us. Everything considered she ran her heart out and will now get a few days in the paddock after which we will take stock.
Four yearlings have arrived from Doncaster, the fillies will all go on the walker for a month and into the paddock. The colts will be broken in immediately.
