Autumn seems to have arrived, for this evening anyway. I am being pressurised into lighting the fire - not sure its that bad.
Sam and his young brother Jo were in this morning, Sam played trainers driving up the gallop each lot to give instructions, Sholto and Tilly were his assistants 3rd and 4th lots. Panda slept in. Jo rode out 6 lots, he's as good a young rider I've seen for a long time. He has great hands and a very good understanding of horses. Lads like him are to few and far between nowadays. He's been bought along with jumping ponies and had his first couple of rides in P2Ps last season. He's very light and if he has the correct guidance, natural racing brain, work ethic and patience required he has every chance of being a successful jockey. For now, Sam will retain the rides here! His foot is healing well, he's spending time each week in Oaksey House which is a massive help to him.
Alice has now gone on holiday for another week, she needs to rest up as the winter will be busy.
