All the other horses had routine exercise and seem in good shape.
Umberleigh, the last point to point of the season had to be abandoned due to water logging. It must be a first. The many times I've been there the ground is normally like the road. On one occassion the late John Dufosee and I had a race. We were both being towed by cars on the end of a rope as if we where on water skis, we were in fact on our feet. John took an almighty fall and suffered very painful grass burns. The parties at Umberleigh used to be second to none. I have never tried barefoot water skiing or grass skiing since!
