2nd November 2012

Routine canters for most on the woodchip. All the horses that have been stepping up on the work front seem to be taking it well. I couldn't be happier with them all.

Ralph Beckett is sending his lorry up for 9 O'clock in the morning to take the first batch of yearlings home. Three horses will arrive from Overbury Stud mid morning, filling the stables that have been vacated. Ralph's Kodiac and Dandy Man were ridden in the school for the first time today and both behaved well.

Next week we will start to ride some of the 3 year olds over some poles in the school before progressing to the schooling ground. I am a big fan of schooling and will school the horses on Mondays and Thursdays most, if not every week.

My bookeeper was here all day yesterday and the end result is rather depressing, the cost of bedding, feed and staff has become crippling. If I went on Dragons Den I would not be holding my breath for investment!
